Mingus Septet tours Queensland, Australia
In April, our Australian distributor Advance Audio took Mingus Septet on the road through Queensland — joined by Parker Duo Diamond Edition and Oscar Trio — for two evenings, two dealers, and a first opportunity for listeners in the region to spend serious time with the speakers.
Ten days later, the evening moved south to GC Hifi on the Gold Coast, where three full systems gave listeners a chance to hear how the Marten voice carries across the range — from the warmth and pace of Oscar Trio through the transparency of Parker Duo Diamond Edition to Mingus Septet anchoring the room as the reference. Different scales, different personalities, but a coherent thread running through all three. Mingus Septet did what it does best: filled the space with dynamics and detail, then disappeared, leaving only the music and an audience that didn’t want to leave.

What makes these evenings worth noting is not just that a speaker of this calibre reached Queensland for the first time, but the way it happened. The Audio Tailor and GC Hifi — two independent dealers with their own identities and their own audiences — came together with Advance Audio to build something for the region. That kind of collaboration is rare, and it matters. It is how a brand grows properly: not through volume, but through people who care enough to put on an evening and fill a room with music.
We love when our speakers travel. A loudspeaker reveals itself differently in every room, with every audience — and there is something particular about hearing music together, among people who care about it, that no specification or review can replace.
