Parker Duo through Steve Huff’s ears
In his latest review, Steve Huff describes being “jolted, wowed and blown away from almost the first note” by Parker Duo.
When Steve Huff set up Parker Duo in his 13×18‑foot listening room—pairing them with amplifiers from Fezz Audio, ModWright, Galion and Luxman—he wasn’t sure what to expect. But it was the Devialet Astra, which he calls his “favorite amp ever”, that truly unlocked their potential. With this combination, Parker Duo impressed him from the very first note.
Importantly, Steve made clear that his review was entirely independent, reflecting only his genuine impressions. This review was made possible thanks to Unveiled Audio, a Marten dealer Steve calls “a kick butt one at that.”
Steve’s impressions
Steve explained that Parker Duo had not only matched but in some ways surpassed his long‑time reference speakers, all while being more compact and accessible in size.
“For the last several weeks I have been enjoying a set of speakers here that have truly and legitimately wowed me… I never heard a bookshelf sized speakers sound so freaking glorious.”
One quality that stood out was the way Parker Duo vanished into the room, leaving only the music behind.
“These speakers do 100% disappear with an absolute ease… the sound appears to come from the entire front of the room wall to wall and floor to ceiling.”
Despite its compact form, Steve found Parker Duo’s bass to be both powerful and precise.
“These deliver bass performance that bests my mighty Icon 12, somehow… Bass, lower bass, is taught, tight and BIG without slop. I mean none.”
When listening to Fields of Gold by Eva Cassidy late at night, Steve was struck by the realism of Parker Duo.
“When she starts to sing I was getting goosebumps… it’s as if Eva is still with us and here she is singing to me in my own room.”
In comparison with speakers at far higher prices, Parker Duo stood tall.
“I was able to finally hear the $100k stand mount speakers from Borresen… They truly and honestly sounded no “better” than the Marten Parker DUO and in fact I feel the Marten speakers were more to my liking as they were a touch more alive.”
Steve’s conclusion leaves little doubt about his impression of our standmount.
“I can state with authority that the Marten Parker Duo are indeed the finest stand mounted speakers I have ever heard.”
Our take
Parker Duo was designed to bring both the scale and the emotion of music into real living spaces. Reviews like Steve’s remind us why we do what we do. As he put it:
“These are beautiful truly end game speakers that deliver not only all of the music, but also the emotion in the music.”
